Dare A250 Passport Program
Explore the places that shaped our nation’s story and discover why Dare County is proudly known as the “Land of Beginnings” through the Dare A250 Passport Program!
The program features the following 13 historic stops—each offering a meaningful introduction to local history through museums, cultural sites and natural landmarks. At each stop, participants can scan a QR code, completing a brief digital form to receive a digital stamp, building their passport while learning about the county’s lasting contributions to American history.
As participants build their collection, they will become eligible to receive a certificate recognizing their engagement with Dare County’s historic landscape during the A250 celebration. The program is open through November 18, 2026. Passport holders who complete all 13 stops will receive a "John Hancock" certificate of completion. These certificates will be emailed to participants on a quarterly basis. All other participants who do not complete all stops will receive a certificate corresponding with their level of completion in November 2026.
