About the event
The first flight by the Wright Brothers on the Outer Banks was a defining moment for Dare County, accelerating Dare County's growth with the construction of the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge just a few years after the 25th Anniversary of the first flight underscored how isolated the Outer Banks were. The Wright Brothers are an important component of American History, certainly something that should be celebrated on the 250th Anniversary.
